Gel Paint for the win

Ever since I visited my cousin's beach house in Port St. Joe and saw all the 3D looking paintings on the walls I have wanted to create something similar to it! This Christmas I was given gel paint that does just that. Gel paint looks like a jar of white plaster, but it can add so much life to a painting. I have been experimenting with the paint ever since December and use the white base to mix in colors and create scenes that have paint popping off the canvas. You are supposed to use these thin spatulas - not brushes- to spread the paint and maintain its consistency, but since I did not have them I borrow one of my mom's veterinarian spatulas and it works just fine. So far I have painted two flower scenes, but I want to adventure into ocean waves and maybe nature scenes with this new medium!!
